01Why this converter

From spreadsheet to a clean PDF.

Four reasons freelancers, analysts, and operations leads use this page to ship a workbook as a PDF.

  • 01

Excel and CSV in one place

Drop in .xlsx, .xls, or .csv files. The tool detects the format, reads the cells, and renders a clean table-style PDF. No two-step workflow.

  • 02

A4 or Letter, portrait or landscape

Wide tables look right in landscape; narrow lists in portrait. Pick the page size and orientation that match where the PDF is going.

  • 03

    Multi-sheet workbooks

If the Excel file has multiple sheets, convert one or all of them. Each sheet starts on a new page with its title and column headers repeated when needed.

  • 04

    Spreadsheets stay private

Financial models, customer lists, internal reports — nothing is uploaded. SheetJS parses the workbook locally and pdf-lib writes the PDF in your browser.

02How it works

Three steps to a printable PDF.

  1. Drop spreadsheet
    sales-q3.xlsx180 KB · 3 sheets

    Step 1Drop the file

Drag in an Excel workbook or a CSV. The tool reads sheets and rows and shows the column count so you can sanity-check before converting.

  2. Orientation
    LandscapePortrait

    Step 2Pick layout

Choose page size, orientation, and (for multi-sheet workbooks) whether to export the active sheet or all of them.

  3. PDF ready
    sales-q3.pdfPDF · 220 KB · 4 pages

    Step 3Download the PDF

Click Convert and save the file. Print it, attach it to email, or upload it to a portal that demands PDFs.

03Use cases

Anywhere the table needs to be read, not edited.

Excel and CSV are where the data lives. PDF is how you hand it over. These are the swaps people make every week.

  • Send an invoice as PDF

Build the invoice in Excel or Google Sheets, export here, and send the PDF. Clients can't accidentally edit it and any viewer can open it.

    invoice-Q3.xlsx → invoice.pdf
  • Share a board-ready report

Lock a finalised financial or KPI report as PDF before circulating. Recipients see exactly the numbers you intended, on any device.

    kpis.xlsx → board-pack.pdf
  • Attach a price list to a proposal

Procurement portals nearly always require PDF. Maintain the price list in Excel, convert when needed, attach to the submission.

    pricing.xlsx → pricing.pdf
  • Print a CSV export cleanly

Raw CSV exports from analytics tools look ugly when printed. Convert here and you get a proper table with headers and zebra striping.

    export.csv → report.pdf
  • Hand off a checklist or roster

Class rosters, equipment checklists, contact lists — anything in rows and columns becomes a printable PDF without manual formatting.

    roster.xlsx → roster.pdf
  • Print without column overflow

Excel print previews often clip the right edge. Landscape A4 here auto-fits the columns to the page so nothing goes missing.

    wide-sheet.xlsx → handout.pdf

04XLSX/CSV vs PDF

When to switch formats.

Spreadsheets win while the data is still moving. PDF wins the moment it stops. Here is how to think about each.

05Quick tips

Get a cleaner table.

Habits that make the converted spreadsheet look intentional, not auto-generated.

  • 01

    Put headers in row one

The first row of each sheet is rendered as a bold header band. Move totals or filter rows below the header before converting for cleaner output.

  • 02

    Wide tables → landscape

Tables with many columns get cramped in portrait. Landscape A4 fits 8-10 typical columns comfortably with auto-fit widths.

  • 03

    Export only what you need

For multi-sheet workbooks, exporting a single sheet keeps the PDF short and focused. Use All sheets only when the recipient needs the full pack.

  • 04

    Compress big PDFs after

Long tables can produce many pages. Run the result through the PDF compressor for a quick size drop before emailing.

Freelancers, ops leads, and analysts use it daily.

  • I invoice in Google Sheets, export CSV, drop it here, and the PDF is ready to send. Cleaner than the built-in Sheets PDF export.

  • Analytics tool exports as CSV. Stakeholders want PDF. This is the missing step that used to need Excel and a print dialog.

07Questions

Excel & CSV to PDF, plainly answered.

What people ask before exporting their first sheet. Anything missing? hello@wirelogs.com.

01Which file types are supported?

Excel .xlsx and .xls files, plus .csv and .tsv text files. .xlsm, .xlsb, and .ods also work in most cases via the same parser. Older binary .xls files from very old Office versions can occasionally fail — save as .xlsx first if so.

02What about formulas and formatting?

Formulas are evaluated to their current cell value and the value is rendered in the PDF. Cell colors, font styles, conditional formatting, and merged cells are not transferred — the focus is a clean, readable table.

03Can I convert multiple sheets at once?

Yes. When a workbook has more than one sheet, pick a specific sheet or toggle All sheets — each sheet starts on a new page with its title.

04My CSV uses semicolons or tabs — does that work?

Tab-separated .tsv files work directly. Semicolon-separated CSVs (common in some European locales) usually parse correctly through the Excel path — save the file as .xlsx in Excel/Sheets for guaranteed compatibility.

05What's the size limit?

50 MB. Most spreadsheets are well under this; very large data dumps should be split or filtered before converting.

06Does it work on phones?

Yes — it runs in mobile browsers. You can save the resulting PDF straight into Files on iOS or downloads on Android, then share or upload from there.

07Is the converter truly free?

Yes. No usage cap, no watermark on the PDF, no premium tier, no sign-up.

08Where does the file go?

Nowhere outside your browser. SheetJS reads the workbook in memory and pdf-lib writes the PDF — both run locally. Wirelogs never sees your data.
