04Quick tips
Read the breakdown right.
Four small notes that keep the math meaningful.
- 01
Calendar months aren't equal
Age in 'months' depends on the day of the month, not just the count of months elapsed. The tool walks the calendar carefully so the breakdown is accurate.
- 02
Leap years are handled
Born February 29? The countdown adjusts in non-leap years to the date you treat as your birthday (typically Feb 28 or Mar 1).
- 03
Local time, not UTC
Age calculations use your browser's local time. For most everyday questions that's what you want.
- 04
Countdown updates live
The next-birthday timer refreshes every second. Keep the page open the night before and watch the moment tick over.

06Questions
Age math, plainly answered.
Questions before your first calculation. Missing one? hello@wirelogs.com.
01How accurate is the age calculation?
Down to the second. The tool uses your local time and walks the calendar day by day, so leap years and varying month lengths are handled correctly.
02Can I calculate age at a future date?
Yes. Set the 'as of' date to a future day to see what age someone will be on that date — useful for cut-offs, events, and milestones.
03Does the calculator work for old historical dates?
Yes, for any plausible birth date. The Gregorian calendar arithmetic stays accurate for centuries in either direction.
04Why are 'months' calculated this way?
Because that's how people use the word. '32 years and 4 months' means you've fully completed your 4th month of being 32 — not that 4 abstract months have passed.
05Is my data sent anywhere?
No. Both dates stay in your browser. The calculation is pure date arithmetic.
06Is it free?
Yes. No sign-up, no usage cap, no watermark.
