01Why this remover
Clean cutouts, no Photoshop.
Four reasons sellers, creators, and designers reach for this page when a subject needs to come off its background.
- 01
AI does the cutout for you
A WebAssembly model trained on people, products, and objects finds the subject and trims the background. No magic wand, no eraser tool, no lasso patience.
- 02
Pick a background colour or keep it clear
Transparent PNG by default. Snap to white, black, or any colour if you need it framed for a product shot or a profile slot that won't accept transparency.
- 03
Runs entirely in your browser
The model is downloaded once and runs locally — no server processing, no upload spinner. After the first image, every cutout takes a few seconds.
- 04
Photos stay on your device
Product shots, headshots, family photos — none of it travels to a server. The same isn't true of most online cutout sites.
02How it works
Three steps to a transparent PNG.
- Drop imageproduct.jpg4.2 MB
Step 1Drop the image
Drag in a JPG, PNG, or WebP up to 20 MB. The first run downloads the model (about 40 MB) — it's cached after that.

Step 2Wait a few seconds
The model finds the subject and produces a clean alpha mask. You see the result side-by-side with the original as soon as it's done.

Step 3Download the cutout
Save as a transparent PNG or pick a solid colour first. The original stays loaded, so you can re-export with a different background in seconds.
03Use cases
When the background has to go.
Most cutout jobs fall into the same handful of buckets. These are the ones people fix here most often.
Product photos for stores
Etsy, Shopify, and Amazon love clean white-background shots. Drop a product photo, pick White, download a listing-ready image.
Lifestyle shot → white-bg productProfile pictures with no clutter
Turn a casual selfie into a clean cutout for LinkedIn, GitHub, or a team page. Add the brand colour as the background and it looks intentional.
Selfie → brand-coloured headshotHero imagery for slides and pitch decks
Strip the background from your subject so it floats on the slide. Way more striking than a rectangular photo sitting on a coloured deck.
Photo → cutout on slide bgCut-outs for thumbnails and posters
Thumbnail design gets a whole lot easier when the subject already has no background. Skip the manual masking in Photoshop entirely.
Person photo → poster cutoutMarketplace listings
Facebook Marketplace, eBay, and Vinted listings sell faster with clean photos. Snap, cut, post — usually under a minute per item.
Phone shot → tidy listingStickers and Discord emoji
Discord stickers and Slack emoji want transparent PNG. Cut out the subject of a meme or screenshot, download, upload to your server.

04Quick tips
Get a sharper cutout.
A few habits that help the model find a clean edge.
- 01
Even lighting helps the AI
Hard shadows and harsh backlight can confuse the edge detection. A flat, evenly-lit subject is what the model handles best.
- 02
One subject works better than several
Photos with one clear subject (a person, a product) usually produce a cleaner cutout than scenes with multiple overlapping objects.
- 03
Hair and fur are the hardest
Wispy hair and fine fur can produce a slightly soft edge. If the result looks rough, try a higher-resolution source — more pixels means a finer mask.
- 04
Compress after
The output PNG can be heavy. Drop it into the image compressor or convert to WebP if you'll use it on the web for a much smaller file.
05Loved by
Sellers, creators, and designers use it weekly.
Every listing photo gets a white background now. Used to mean paying $5 per photo on Fiverr. Now I do them in 30 seconds each — same look, zero cost.
I cut out subjects for thumbnails and headshots in seconds instead of opening Photoshop. The result is good enough for everything except cover-magazine work.
Quick mood-board work used to mean photo masking in Figma or paying for remove.bg credits. Now I drop in, export PNG, drag into Figma. Way faster.
06Questions
Background removal, plainly answered.
The handful of things people check before running their first cutout. Anything missing? hello@wirelogs.com.
01How does this work without an upload?
An AI segmentation model (built on the @imgly/background-removal library) runs in your browser via WebAssembly. The first image triggers a one-time model download of about 40 MB. After that, every cutout is processed locally.
02What types of images work best?
Products, people, animals, and any photo with a clear single subject. The model is trained on a variety of categories and handles most cases well. Cluttered scenes with overlapping subjects can be harder.
03How accurate is the cutout?
Excellent for clean subjects on busy backgrounds. Edges are usually crisp, with soft fall-off for hair and fur. Not Photoshop-perfect for fine detail like flyaway strands, but good enough for the vast majority of e-commerce and social use cases.
04Can I keep transparency in the result?
Yes. The default download is a transparent PNG. You can also pick a solid colour background if your destination doesn't support transparency.
05How big can my image be?
Up to 20 MB per file. The model is happiest in the 1-12 megapixel range — larger images take longer but won't process more accurately.
06Is it actually free?
Yes. No usage cap, no watermark on the output, no premium tier, no sign-up. The model runs in your browser, so there's no per-image cost to anyone.
07Do you upload my image?
No. Everything runs in your browser. Wirelogs never sees the file — product mockups, personal photos, and unreleased work stay on your machine.
08Why is the first conversion slow?
The model needs to download to your browser the first time (about 40 MB). It's cached after that, so the second and subsequent images process in a few seconds.
