Here is what you need to do. Follow this step-by-step guide.

Step-1: Download 7-zip

7-zip

7-zip is a fermium software used to unzip, compress and encrypt files and folders. Download the software from the official website 7-zip.org .

Note: If you are using a 32-bit or 64-bit operating system , download the version as per your system arch.

Step-3: Lock your files

Right-click on the folder containing your private or secure files, click on 7-zip and choose to Add to archive.

A pop-up window will show up. Enter your password and hit ok.

Congratulations 👏 you successfully secured your files with a password. Whoever tries to open the files, a password is required to unlock them.
